Dog Droppings Costing Condo Residents

Residents at the Village of Abacoa, a condominium complex in Jupiter, are going to have an extra fee come August.

Starting Aug. 1, residents in the Jupiter community must each pay a $200 fee to keep the dogs' genetic information on file at the DNA Pet World Registry. Dog droppings found in common areas will be collected and mailed to the Tennessee-based company for comparison.

The association's property manager said any owner whose dog matches the poop sample will be fined up to $1,000 or a lien could be placed on their homes. A dog that's a persistent problem could be confiscated.

1. I am so glad that I don't live in a condo, or a neighborhood with a Housing Association,
Or other such bullshit groups.

I understand that people don't want shit on the condo grounds, but this is going way too far. What, cameras and nosy neighbors aren't enough?

3. What a shitty way to lose your Condo . . .
Isn't there some way each pet owner can be required to add food coloring to their pet's food? . . .

Something like a dayglow die, so the droppings can be easily distinguished?

Sure, it sounds idiotic, but that seems right in line with the Homeowners Association's intellectual bent.

4. I really wish people just had the basic decency to clean up after themselves
and that includes cleaning up after any pets they choose to own.

A few assholes always end up making life miserable for the rest of the population.

5. Sometimes, even being rich, won't allow an escape from the 'Man.'
Couldn't happen in a better place.

6. I'm glad I don't live in a condo either. So expensive the fees. I know someone who pays more
in condo fees a month that I pay for rent. Insane!
