Koch Brother stimulates the economy- buys photo of criminal for $2.3 million
http://www.usatoday.com/life/topstories/2011-06-26-740210998_x.htm

'What is believed to be the only surviving authenticated portrait of Billy the Kid went up for auction in Denver on Saturday and sold for $2.3 million.

The tintype on Saturday evening went to private collector William Koch at Brian Lebel's 22nd Annual Old West Show & Auction, where auction spokeswoman Melissa McCracken said the image of the 1800s outlaw was the most expensive piece ever sold at the event.'

They're just rubbing our noses in it now...

1. I heard that on the radio
and was wondering who bought it. Kind of funny the picture is back wards, so fitting they bought it.

2. William (Koch) = Billy the Kid
probably a slam on lefties, too.

I want to know who dressed him?

Jackie Earl Haley could play him in the movies

8. I think this thing is too far gone for most, maybe even all photo restorers
The kind of person that would be able to would be at a museum or something, who does this on a regular basis.

9. Supposedly it's a tintype
Which is photographed onto metal and this is the only known photo in existence.

7. Billy the Kid would be overwhelmed
To think that a picture of him would someday sell for $2.3 million.

By comparison, the national debt was also $2.3 million in 1879.

10. $2.3 MILLION?! I just saved it to my desktop for free.
Where I will enhance it and restore it on photoshop and maybe even give it a sepia tone for cliche effect.
