Crowds protest Ala. immigration law
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-06-25-alabama-immigration-protest_n.htm

Large crowds carrying candles and wearing white marched quietly Saturday in a demonstration organized by churches and other faith-based groups against Alabama's tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.

The protest began with a mass prayer for kindness and mercy in a shady park, where people waited in line to sign a petition against the law.

The crowd was a mix mostly of whites and Hispanics. Organizers gave instructions in both English and Spanish.

"It's a terrible law and needs to be revoked," said Jo Anne Gaede, of Mountain Brook. "They are people just like me."

1. Idiots.
I guess they prefer to let their crops rot in the fields like in Georgia. Brilliant idea!

2. Place blame on corporations that lure workers here and then treat them like slaves...

3. The proper name is the Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act ...
very Orwellian.

"We're going to protect you by beating up on these other people."

How does that protect us?

"Well, we're not beating up on you, are we?"

4. Funny thing is the vast majority of AL's revenue is from sales tax
which includes all food.

So these "illegal human beings" make up quite a bit of Alabama's tax base every time they spend their meager paychecks on the bare necessities.
