Prosser acknowledged the incident recently and said he thought it was becoming public now in an attempt to hurt him politically. Prosser faces Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in the April 5 election.

He said the outburst came after Abrahamson took steps to undermine him politically and to embarrass him and other court conservatives.

"In the context of this, I said, 'You are a total bitch,'" Prosser said.

"I probably overreacted, but I think it was entirely warranted. . . . They (Abrahamson and Justice Ann Walsh Bradley) are masters at deliberately goading people into perhaps incautious statements. This is bullying and abuse of very, very long standing."

17. I don't know if that is always unfair

I can remember an incident from my childhood when my little brother was mad at me, said some things to me and then started to walk away. I knew that if I said something to him, that he would turn around and take a swing at me. So I said it, and he did. Then, just like I had planned, I ducked and his fist slammed into the window ledge I was standing in front of. As a ten or 11 year old, I planned that whole thing, and it worked like a charm. If a young kid can play like that, how much more so an adult? You cannot tell me that there are NOT adults who can verbal drive a needle into somebody else and make them react.

One day as I was walking to church I saw a couple of 9th grade boys throwing snowballs and a 6th grade girl shouting taunts at the boys. They also threw a snowball at me, which I dodged. I had some other mission, or was wearing nice gloves, so I didn't want to have an impromptu snowball fight. Shortly after I got into the church, the girl comes in and complains to the pastor "big kids are throwing snowballs at us". No mention, of course, at the taunts she was throwing back.

People do know how to play these games, and also to proclaim innocence when somebody hits back.
