Pelosi demands a seat at the table in final talks on the debt-ceiling
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/168467-pelosi-demands-a-seat-at-the-table-in-final-debt-ceiling-talks

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will demand a seat in the table for the final talks on the national debt limit, putting a strong liberal voice in the room.

Pelosi and House Democrats were left out of the negotiations between President Obama and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) last year that extended nearly all of the Bush tax rates though 2012.

Pelosi didn’t participate in the final high-level talks over fiscal 2011 spending levels either.

But now she’s demanding her say at a time when many of her House Democratic colleagues are disappointed in Obama’s level of consultation with their caucus.

1. As she should. After all, she's the House Democrats Leader. It's not
a trivial position.

Anyone who thought she wouldn't be included, even if that included the president, was not recognizing her leadership role.

And, can you imagine a male in that position having to make a statement about it to get included?

(Eye roll)

2. Wow! House Dems weren't consulted by Obama in the Bush tax cut extension?

You really have to wonder which side the White House is on.

3. If I remember right, Senate Democrats weren't consulted either.
Obama and McConnell cut the deal and congressional Democrats got to take it or leave it.

6. Geithner was appointed to the NY Fed by Pete Peterson
Social-Security-hater number one.

Bernanke and Gates were Bush appointees.

What further proof do you need that Obama is a closet Republican?

8. Nancy, until you can put enough votes together to stop what the administration and the republicans
put together, no seat for you. Now, if you can get enough votes to back you and not the president then you may be invited to the table.

9. Why leave them out in the first place?
The house & senate leadership don't have a stake in this?

11. Until they can align the votes to stand up to the President, their opinion doesn't matter and isn't
needed.
