I see Fred Phelps' people to picket Ryan Dunn's funeral

I posted earlier that they were going to show up in my neighborhood at a Catholic Church in Kansas City North.

I drove over there - it's about 2 blocks from me. Sure enough. They were there. With their truely awful signs.

There were also a whole lot of police cars and a paddy wagon. And an older gentleman from the church was out there smiling and waving to everyone.

I didn't gawk but these are the signs I saw:

God Hates Fags

God Hates You

God wants more dead boys.

They weren't making any noise when I drove by. Just standing around with their dumb signs.

The KC Star and other media did not cover the event - thank goodness. Those yahoos just walked around for about an hour, I guess, then packed up their stuff and went back home.

I felt like I had entered the Twilight Zone. It was just the oddest thing.

These people are an old, played out joke and they are dying. Dying because that which they need, attention, is drying up.

2. I missed that movie. Why would they picket his funeral?

I never figured out why they would picket our neighborhood Catholic Church. That church is really conservative.
