Michele Bachmann gets it wrong about Canada

GOP presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is now boasting the value of conservative economics, with a tweet noting that Canada's economy has performed much better than the United States in the global recession, and that it had no stimulus spending.

Just think -- a Republican who wants the U.S. to be more like Canada!

One problem: Canada did undertake a major stimulus program.

8. We had a BIG stimulus funding

It really got to be a pain with all the traffic jams from road construction projects, bridge refurbishments and water and sewer replacements. But a lot of towns now have the things they've been wanting for decades.

AND a ton of jobs were created.

9. We had no sub prime mortgages or housing bubble because we have

good regulations on banks. So our recession is based mostly on lack of demand from the USA (we depend on exports to the usa and the usa is in recession). The people responsible for our good banking regulations and okay economy are the Liberals not the Conservatives. Poor Bachmann had to go for a lie to come up with an example on Keynesian economics not working.
