Cannabis case gets first day in court: “If this law’s enacted, I’m a dead man”
A former cancer patient and the husband of an elderly woman with serious health problems told a district judge Monday they worry whether they can still obtain medical marijuana if a new law takes effect July 1 and bans commercial growing operations.

They, some physicians and others testified during the first day of a hearing in a lawsuit filed by the Montana Cannabis Industry Association and others asking District Judge James Reynolds to issue an injunction to prevent the new law from taking effect July 1. The medical marijuana group contends the law is unconstitutional, while the state attorney general’s office said it passes legal muster.

“If this law’s enacted, I’m a dead man,” said Pointe Hatfield of Gardiner, 60, a former river guide who has had cancer in his head, neck and throat. “I tried to grow it. I can’t grow it. It died on me.”

Hatfield said he has a caregiver in Livingston who sells him his monthly one-ounce supply of medical pot for $200. Maintaining the current commercial market is vital, he said.

3. have the courts informed him that our ruling elites actually don't care if he lives or dies?
Some honesty in court would be refreshing.

Or else stupid laws like this would have been eliminated years ago (when we still had some influence).

9. I think there is a good portion of the American population that has been written
off as dispensable and not worth saving. We know that's the case for the lower class, now the middle class is being merged with that. I'm thinking in some dark circles about 1/3 of the American population is considered dispensable and not worth saving. Maybe even higher.

I'm not a conspiracy theory person, but when one looks around at all of the crap going on it's hard to walk away and say yep, we're all interested in helping the next guy.

6. Why not just outlaw the sale of all prescription drugs?
Why not require patients to produce their own pills?

Hey, Montana's not densely populated, but it can be further depopulated. And it sounds like it's already populated by too many who are dense.

11. I'd like to get some of our lawmakers in a room
and explain some history to them. Our history has an awful lot of drug use in the past. Laudanum, morphine, cocaine were all available for quite a while. In England they used to have chloroform parties and some used ether as a party drug. Abortion was available and the world did not come to an end. There were families that had ten or twelve children while abortions were performed.
