They would go ape shit, full force to remove him or her. There would be investigations and likely attempts to impeach.

Why is it crickets from the Dems? I consider Thomas a political enemy, and all Democrats should as well. When your political practices behavior that very well be in violation of the law, and you have the ability to hold them accountable, you should take it.
