8. I don't think the average DU'er really understands the power we have

as a news gathering site. We have people from all over the globe here posting real time local news that eventually snowballs into national headlines. DU is the first place I've heard about current breaking news. The tornadoes are an example. I saw local news feeds at the scene of the recent tornadoes as they happened because a DU'er alerted me of their local TV station's live streaming. This was 30 minutes before any national network broadcast the images. The Weather Channel knew of the event but were not the first to alert of the situation. We should be proud of what Skinner and the rest have created here.
