Was a dog allegedly hosting spirit of reincarnated lawyer sentenced to death by stoning ?

The dog entered the Jerusalem financial court several weeks ago and would not leave, reports Israeli website Ynet.

It reminded a judge of a curse passed on a now deceased secular lawyer about 20 years ago, when judges bid his spirit to enter the body of a dog.

The animal is said to have escaped before the sentence was carried out

There was a picture of the sweetest dog (think 'Benji') on that story yesterday. Now the BBC has updated the story but adds the note that it considers the source of the original story to be reliable. Here is the update:

Did it happen or not? Reports "strongly denied" doesn't sound all that conclusive: "We strongly deny reports..." What's wrong with "This didn't happen..."

This was reported by Israel's Maariv newspaper who apologized for its headline?

but they aren't used to having the whole world (via the BBC) looking over their shoulder.

The whole thing is disturbing but the part about asking local children to carry out the stoning of Benji was the worst.

7. my read is they put a curse on the lawyer 20 years ago,

he passed, then this dog shows up and they are so confident in their own power of witchcraft that they connected the 2 events.

So the dog is possessed by a lawyer just like they asked... so now they say stone the poor innocent dog? The dog should sue them, acting as his own lawyer of course.
