13. Definition needed...
What's a "real democrat?" Are we talking lockstep with the party platform, or do you mean "progressive?" How far left is TOO left to still be considered a Dem?

20. What is a real Democrat?
Depends what you consider "a real Democrat." Democrat who's opinions are closest to mine is most certainly Dennis Kucinich. I, however, never understood what a democratic socialist with progressive ideas like Kucinich has in common with a far right "libertarian" and bigot like Ron Paul. If he chose Paul as a VP, I am unsure if I would have voted for him at all. Kucinich is for a fairer and more just America, while Paul is for cruel capitalist exploitation. They only agree on the so-called "War on Terror", aggression against Iraq and the Middle East in general, which is certainly not a major issue. Why not ally with John Taylor Bowles than? He is also for withdrawing the troops. I never understood co-operation between Kucinich and Paul.

I also disagree with Kucinich on Syria. His support for the al-Assad regime is horrific. Every true leftist shall stand by the people and their revolution. Every revolution is the glorious revolution - liberté, égalité, fraternité, ou la mort!

Bernie Sanders is closest to my opinions but he is not a Democrat, but an Independent. Vermont Progressive Party rocks!

24. Kucinich, Kaptur, DeFazio, Blumenauer, Ellison, Franken, Feingold, and

any politicians who remember that their job is

1) To promote policies and legislation that are good for the American people as a whole and to set the terms of the debate instead of accepting the Republicans' memes

2) To oppose the Republicans, whether they have a chance of prevailing or not

3) To make being a Democrat mean something other than, "We don't suck quite as much as the Republicans."

29. Sanders! (Despite the letter "I" after his name!)

Feingold, definitely! (I have huge respect for him.)

Paul Wellstone, of course. Always and forever.

Kucinich (to the slightly lesser degree than the first three).
