Head Stomping Paul Supporter Pleas Out, Still Says He's Not Guilty

Tim Profitt, the man who was caught on video stomping on the head of MoveOn activist Lauren Valle, has accepted a plea bargain, and will be serving probation as well as paying Valle's medical bills. However, the former campaign worker still states that he is not guilty.

Politico reports:

Tim Profitt, 53, a former campaign worker for Paul, agreed to serve probation and pay the medical expenses of the MoveOn.org activist, Lauren Valle, but did not admit guilt in the Oct. 25 melee in Lexington during the 2010 midterm election campaign.

As part of the plea deal, Profitt acknowledged that prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him. He will spend a year on unsupervised probation will pay $600 to cover Valle’s medical bills.

Profitt previously had pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault charges. In November last year, Profitt’s attorney said the former Bourbon County coordinator for Paul’s campaign was “doing what he thought was necessary.”

9. With that video evidence there is an airtight case. I'm amazed they let him even plea. And I am

fucking stupified that they let him off with unsupervised probation. This guy needs some sort of counseling/supervision as he is a violent offender. Letting him off this easy and not monitoring his violence issues means that that gutterslime scumbucket will victimize someone else.

2. It defies logic why a plea bargain was offered by the prosecutor.

There was film showing the act and definitively showing Profitt committing the crime.

The only challenge IMO would be the prosecutor apprehensive of jury nullification if the proceedings got that far.
