Trying to find more info about Bart Stupak and Weiner being friends.
Was reading various articles and came across a passage in one that really caught my eye. Bart Stupak was my rep until he retired and he certainly didn't have many fans here at DU.

"Among the House Democrats backing Weiner are Pascrell, Larson and Reps. Michael Capuano (Mass.), Mike Doyle (Pa.), Bob Brady (Pa.) and Tim Holden (Pa.); previous members of the Friend s of Weiner group include former Reps. Ron Klink (D-Pa.) and Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and former congressman and governor John Baldacci (D-Maine)."

While quite interesting to me, I would not be surprised, as I'm quite familiar with Stupak's record in Congress, that he and Weiner would have been allies and worked together on a wide range of issues.

2. I really like Capuano, not surprised to see him take a stand
for Weiner. Rangel has also stood up for him. I wonder why the media has not covered the fact that he does have Democratic supporters in Congress?

Interesting that most of them are from the NE and are NOT Blue Dogs or DLCers. I hope more join them and they probably would if they were not afraid of the party leadership.

They better take a stand now, as Breitbart and his mob are already targeting their next victim.

3. Apparently Weiner, Stupak and many other Dems had a party after the health care vote

The below is from a right wing site which links to the original story at Roll Call which I can't get because I'm not a subscriber:

"Nothing like tossing down some brews after selling your morality and constituents out. Roll Call is reporting Rep. Bart Stupak partied with his Democrat buddies into the wee hours of the morning after caving in on his demands stronger anti-abortion language be added to the Democrats health care bill. Reportedly, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.)kissed Stupak’s cheek. I wonder if a tickle fight broke out afterwords?"
