I'm Sorry, Just Can't Help Myself; Pics of My Weiner... (Pic Heavy)
Edited on Tue Jun-14-11 10:34 PM by The Doctor.

My weiner up-close;

My Weiner a little to the right;

My Weiner in your face;

Holding my Weiner;

I know... now I can never run for Congress.

(PS: This is more than a 'cute' thread. It's a commentary on our national Weiner fixation.)

And occasionally the Cat...

The garbage can...

A nice patch of Grass...

Err... you don't want to know what it does with bunny-rabbits.

14. Only those with one can understand.

No amount of admonishment, no matter how many times you kennel them, no matter how you punish them, they never stop getting into trouble.

I trained shepherds for years, and not a single one of them was 1% as difficult as this little guy.

I swear, their cuteness is nothing more than a survival trait, and one that is inversely proportionate to their behavior.

it's a miracle that it didn't affect his sight or hearing, but yes that's the merle gene applied to a dachshund. The one on the left is just regular dapple.

63. Of course! LOL
He showed up here about 4 years ago. He had crossed six lanes of traffic and a woman saw him do it and pulled over. My husband had walked up the long driveway to put out the trash just then and she asked if he was ours.

He took to my hubby right away and despite trying all avenues we were not able to find his owner. He settled in right away like the little Pasha he is.

He is as cute as can be and he has no idea how small he is. LOL

18. Why, Thank You so Much...
Technically, it's a 'mini' Weiner, but my Weiner does some Big things and really does leave an impression.

You'd be amazed at how deep and far my Weiner will go.

(Seriously; they're very adept at getting into the warrens and tunnels of varmints and killing them dead. The little guys are designed for it. If you've ever wondered why their fur is so velvet-soft, it's to reduce friction in dirt-tunnels.)

I saw one in the park once, she was black and tan long hair with silver-blue running through her coat.

I don't know about yours, but I'm pretty sure that the cuteness is a survival trait. We'd kill them for all the trouble they get into if they weren't so darned adorable.

So what are their names? Are they miscreants?

34. You are sooo right...I say that about every day.
The one on the left is Bijou, we've had her since she was 8 weeks (and is the biggest problem child). The one on the right is Coco and we adopted him at about a year old. He gets into a little bit of trouble but it's usually Bijou's fault for egging him on.

Bijou's father was a long-hair black and tan dapples (he was gorgeous!) and her mother was a short hair red.

61. When it comes to evolutionary strategies...
Being adored by humans is a big winner. Bijou is the epitome of canine-induced human pathos. I have no doubt that when she licks your mouth, she feels real love. We wouldn't be such suckers otherwise.

Thank you for helping to support my hypothesis.

28. I trained German Shepherds,
but wound up with a Dachshund. He's the biggest pain in the ass, but too much fun to have around.

I really think it'd be hard not to have them in the family from now on. They just always put a smile on your face like no other pet can.

Those two are adorable. What are their names?

49. One winter, I did something horribly cruel...
We had 2 feet of snow in the back yard.

The kids and I dug a maze. I put food in a few of the dead-ends and plunked him down right in the center of the maze. He tried so hard to figure out how to get the hell out. He could see us standing 30 feet away, but couldn't get to us however we encouraged him.

We let him try for about 20 minutes. I wish I had taken pictures.

That scene sounds hilarious! Was he upset with you for long? A friend of mine adopted a weiner dog last fall, and of course they had record amounts of snow in her area. She took a ton of pics with her little red doxie having fun in the snow...it was fine as long as it was semi-compacted, but not the stuff that was too deep!

Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 10:43 PM by The Doctor.
His fur is like velvet... all the better to plunge into holes.

Seriously... these little guys are frighteningly adept at going into varmint holes and killing critters where they live. Their fur is silky-smooth so they can move easily through almost any tunnel. If you look at the snout, the jaws of the Dachshund open as large as almost any hole they go into. That lil' cutie is death incarnate for anything that lives in the ground.

And he so loves to cuddle!
