2. I have concluded that the Heat just plain quit on their coach
Certainly James, Wade and Bosh think that they will be in the Finals several more times during their careers, and I think they're justified in their thinking. But every opportunity could be your last; you never know when a knee is going to blow out, or somebody takes a cheap shot and you land head first under the basket. A lot of the public satisfaction in seeing James fail (less so with Wade and Bosh) is the perceived arrogance of a man who styles himself as "King James" and "the Chosen One." Sports has a nasty way of teaching humility, and this lesson might have to be repeated.

5. James didn't sound like he had learned anything
At least judging from his press conference after the game. But then, he has "Chosen One" tattooed on his back, so why would he feel like learning anything?

Given their talent, I can't see the Heat not winning at some point. Unless their egos start clashing. If they don't win it all next year, watch out.

6. Well, in the immediate aftermath
In the immediate aftermath of such a disappointing showing, I'm not surprised by too many of the comments James made ("All the Hatas can go back to their puny little lives"). He's still pretty young. I hope for his sake - at least - someone he respects has a little man-to-man talk with him during the off-season about how to conduct himself in the future. As Wilt Chamberlain observed, "Nobody roots for Goliath."

3. You Gotta Have Heart
The Heat didn't play with heart. They have amazing talent. No heart.
