Republicans must be challenged ...
It must be done aggressively, not timidly.

On jobs, it must be stated in clear and passionate language that supply-side economics, taxcuts that trickle down on the rest of us, is a miserable failure. We have tried it for 30 years and we have nothing to show for it except $14 trillion dollars in debt and a huge transfer of wealth to the top. It doesn't work and Republicans should not be permitted to continue this nonsense.

On Medicare, we should make it clear that we will not cut health benefits to our elderly to give another trillion dollar tax cut to the wealthy. It is about priorities and another taxcut should not be a priority. It is time to take sides.

On Social Security, we should not let the Republicans demogogue the issue as if it is going broke. With some small changes, it can be saved for seventy-five years into the future. Someone, anyone, needs to be aggressive in defending these successful Democratic programs. The timid nature of this White House and many Democratic leaders is killing us. In these times, we need fighters, not bipartisan wimps.

1. I'm not buying
the "timid nature" BS. It is conspiratorial in nature, There is no disagreement on these points and many others between Dems and thugs.

2. To the people that top level politicians end up talking to almost all the time it's not failure..
There is little or no visceral emotional connection between those at the top in politics and 95% of the people.

That's the problem in a nutshell.
