Man-on-Dog wants abortion-providing doctors criminally charged
thinkprogress, via alternet:

Santorum: Doctors Providing Abortions To Rape And Incest Victims Should Be Criminally Charged

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press yesterday, former Senator and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum offered two stunningly maximalist positions on abortion — abortion should be flatly banned even in cases of rape or incest, and doctors who perform abortions should face criminal charges:

QUESTION: Do you believe that there should be any legal exceptions for rape or incest when it comes to abortion?

SANTORUM: I believe that life begins at conception, and that that life should be guaranteed under the Constitution. That is a person.

QUESTION: So even in the case of rape or incest, that would be taking a life?

SANTORUM: That would be taking a life, and I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so.

It’s worth noting that Santorum’s statement that “life begins at conception” also indicates that he would make it a crime to provide many forms of birth control to victims of rape or incest. During a debate with Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), who defeated Santorum in 2006, Santorum took the position that the morning after pill is the exact same thing as abortion if it is taken after “the egg has been fertilized.” .............(more)

3. He won't be happy until women start dying from back-alley abortions again...
...or self-induced abortions, just like the good old days.

Apparently that's what it will take before the rest of America wakes the f*** up and realizes why we need to keep abortion legal and safe. You don't have to approve of a woman's reasons for having an abortion, but you don't have the right to dictate her choice in the matter either. In any case, women will get abortions whether they are legal or not. That is a simple fact. If they are made illegal several things will happen: 1 - women, especially young women, will put off dealing with the problem until their pregnancy has progressed beyond the first trimester; 2 - women will seek out abortion providers of one sort or another; 3 - all sorts of charlatans and unscrupulous operators will spring up to fill this demand; 4 - women and girls will start dying, or "only" losing their reproductive ability, due to botched attempts to terminate their pregnancies.

Yep, just like the good old days. Yee haw!!

4. They really don't like women being in charge of deciding whether that
tiny bunch of cells will be implanted or remain implanted, do they. Santorum needs his precious, sanctified member slammed repeatedly in a door.

6. If you criminalize Abortion, both are criminals. The doctor would
not even know the patient under most circumstances
if she had not sought him out.

Why make a law if it is not to be enforced??? When
put down to the squeeze most Pols have to admit
they want to criminalize abortion. Why else would
you make all these laws.

Tweety has had a couple of pols have to admit you
have to criminalize abortion and it is rather
unfair to prosecute one and not the other.

9. so then Man-Dog,
would you charge the pregnant woman and doctor both with first-degree murder? How about the nurses and office staff? Shouldn't they be charged with conspiracy to commit murder? Should we execute them, to show how much we value human life?

Oh great and powerful flying spaghetti monster, save me from the stupid; it hurts.

10. Women can't think for themselves
obviously the doctor is making them do it, therefore they are not criminally liable.
