Weiner's Resurrection Will Be Hailed as a "People's Victory"
Weiner will actually be strengthened by the attempts to destroy him, as he will successfully present his attackers as corporate hacks seeking to undermine democracy. To everyone's amazement, this improbable strategy will actually gain him support.

Weiner will do all the late night talk shows and his hosts will clap him on the back for staying focused on his job; they will commiserate with him for the tough times he's been through. Letterman will do a Top Ten countdown of puns on Weiner's name.

2012 is shaping up as a wild and woolly year, and people will look back on Weinergate with actual nostalgia.

1. I think you mean "in his attempt to destroy himself."

2. Letterman already has
The list went as follows --

10. "Is this my best side?"

9. "Will this get me more followers?"

8. "Should I put it on Facebook instead?"

7. "Do I have a last name that would make this especially embarrassing?"

6. "Would it be more personal to fax everyone photos of my deal?"

5. "What's the point if James Arness is no longer alive to see it?"

4. "Is there a better way to show people I'm Jewish?"

3. "What would Brett Favre do?"

2. "Isn't this what Twitter's for?"

1. "What could possibly go wrong?"

5. People Like a Guy Who Can Take a Joke
This silliness called Weinergate will be hailed for its comit relief, and Weiner himself won't suffer. In fact, there will be suspicions that he provoked the abuse just to make his name a household word. Everybody now knows who Congressman Weiner is. People who are mad at him will find other things to grouse about.

4. Would be a good presumption
IF he hadn't blatantly lied to the nation and tried to cover it all up.

6. Clinton's Denials About Monica
As issues age, some aspects become salient. Republicans made a big deal about Clinton's denial that a blowjob is the same as having sex. But nobody's mad about it anymore; in fact chuckle when they look back on it.
