Patients included college students, senior citizens and recent immigrants. The one thing many of them had in common: no health insurance.

"I read about this online and I came from Yorba Linda," said Hasan Yousaf, 21, a Fullerton College student without health insurance.

"I've been concerned about some chest pain, so I thought I'd come here and have it checked out to see if it's anything serious," he said.

Within a couple of hours, Yousaf had his blood drawn to check for cholesterol, met with a cardiologist and undergone an EKG test – all at no cost to him.

Dr. Dilip Patel consulted with a woman in her mid-50s and determined she had high blood pressure and diabetes. She had recently lost her job – and her health insurance.
