I call for the resignation of
Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.

First, she lies all the time about taxes and the US budget. http://journals.democraticunderground.com/hfojvt/133

Some people might actually think that taxes and the budget are more important to the American people that who is tweeting pictures of their weiner.

Of course, first the media and then the American public might actually have to study some math to be able to figure out that she is lying.

If that's not enough, there are rumours that she had an affair and that is why her husband divorced her right after she won the election. http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2008/nov/11/jenkins_husban... /

I hereby invite, first, the leftwing media to investigate this rumour, and second, for the M$M to hound her for an explanation as to why her husband divorced her. Clearly, if her husband cannot trust her to keep her marriage vows than neither can the voters, and if the rumor is true, then her character is at least as bad as Weiner's. Except that the media is curiously silent about this, even though it's more than pictures.

So come on media, start throwing dirt at her and see what sticks. Rachel, Keith, Amy, Cenk? Here's a big story!!

3. shouldn't lies of substance and an actual affair rouse the media?
I believe adultery is even against the law in Kansas. Perhaps Six should have investigated when he was AG.

2. This woman who said the GOP needed the "Great White Hope" to fight Obama?
I can't stand her. And her stupid robo calls.

5. I cannot stand her, because of her blatant dishonesty
But the media has been silent about it for the most part. Only Anthony Weiner is dishonest, apparently. While other people can lie all the time and never get called on it. She doesn't have to lie about her alleged affair either, because she is never even asked about it. It sure must be nice to be on the favored side of a double standard.

4. a sex scandal, I tell ya
there could not possibly be some kind of double standard here where the media only investigates what the rightwing blogosphere brings to it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVyYrrJ000k

I'm just saying, the media needs to look into it. Congresspeople need to have impeccable character after all.

6. an interesting contrast - Vitter vs. Weiner on Hardball
Edited on Sun Jun-12-11 08:09 AM by hfojvt
http://www.dailyhowler.com/

Matthews, who was more like another BillO at the time, ignores this 'scandal' (Vitter) and mostly attacks the other people who dare to talk about the scandal instead of more important issues - like dying soldiers in Iraq. Here's Klein talking about it

"KLEIN: I assume they can call him back, if it gets to that. But I don’t know, to some degree, I feel like you’re exactly right. What are we doing here? This is going to sound glib, but why does this matter so much? This is a Louisiana politician who we are now accusing of ethical indiscretions. And simply on the list of David Vitter’s harm to the country, this I wouldn’t even put in the top ten."

The RightWing Noise Machine jumps in to defend a Vitter whereas the same machine jumps in to berate and disparage Weiner and proclaim its moral outrage over the awful things he did.

And then there is the silence about other people.

Some have piled on Weiner for his lying, his arrogance and/or his stupidity. Yet, if Jenkins had an affair, she lied by ommission. She was never put on the spot and asked (repeatedly) by all kinds of reporters "Did you have an affair?" If she was put on the spot, she probably would lie, and I would not really blame her. That would be the human thing to do. (And let me qualify this, because I do not know if she really had an affair. It's possible the rumors are untrue, and to me they are less important anyway than the other lying about the budget, which I do know about.)

Then the "arrogance" and "stupidity" of Weiner. Did he think he wouldn't get caught? Well, why shouldn't he? Jenkins didn't get caught, except, apparently, by her husband. Vitter went for years without getting caught. How many others in Congress are doing shady things where they don't get caught? Uh, hello, Mr. Schwarzenegger. Had an affair, fathered a child, didn't get caught until after he was out of office. We don't hear about the ones who don't get caught, and we don't hear nearly as much about the ones that the Rightwing Noise Machine declines to flog.
