Weiner to make a decision on Wife's return...
Edited on Sat Jun-11-11 02:12 PM by HipChick
Looks like he's going to give into the co-ordinated effort to force him to resign and fold..

Both Pelosi and Israel called Weiner in New York on Saturday to urge him to resign. They told him they had statements prepared to call for him to resign and vowed to release him if he didn't comply. Weiner told them that he would not make a move until his wife Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, returned from her trip to Africa and the Middle East with Clinton.

2. Yeah, not making a statement defending himself probably indicates he's giving it up.
I think its over. Those statements by Pelosi, Israel and Wasserman are very clear and unambiguous.

7. A leave is not a resignation is it?
He's done well with very little support.

15. Good. He NEEDS to get some freaking help. DU'ers pretending he doesn't have a problem are enablers
He's the equivalent of a dry drunk right now. He needs to face the extent of his problem and actually deal with it.

A Leave of Absence for evaluation and treatment is perfect. Good for him.

11. thanks.. here's the text for those interested.. he's seeking "therapy"..
Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person. In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well. Congressman Weiner takes the views of his colleagues very seriously and has determined that he needs this time to get healthy and make the best decision possible for himself, his family and his constituents.

13. Yep.. a leave of absence can (and often does) last for months
and if his district is eliminated or merged, he might just sit out the next election. With all he has on his plate, it might be the smartest thing he can do right now. he has a LOT of fences to mend, and extra daily pressure is not going to help him mend them.

14. I am saddened by their response
and Instead of foucusing on Weiners Penis,I WISH They had This kind of aggressive commitment, with this kind of "sureness" toward Fixing the Dysfunction of the House, The Reps they Rule and the Issues that are Actually Critical to the Health of This Country!
Shame on them!

16. What a great loss.
When are we going to get a wrecking crew to go for the other side?

Turn-about-is-fair-play.

There are far more problems of this sort on the Republican side.

I'd like some questions asked about Boehner's problems.

for "treatment" he will be back in a month...healed or not.

plus...he needs to be stashed away somewhere private for the return of his wife....she is going to get blasted by the hounds....
