Both Pelosi and Israel called Weiner in New York on Saturday to urge him to resign. They told him they had statements prepared to call for him to resign and vowed to release him if he didn't comply. Weiner told them that he would not make a move until his wife Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, returned from her trip to Africa and the Middle East with Clinton.

He's the equivalent of a dry drunk right now. He needs to face the extent of his problem and actually deal with it.

Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person. and if his district is eliminated or merged, he might just sit out the next election. With all he has on his plate, it might be the smartest thing he can do right now. he has a LOT of fences to mend, and extra daily pressure is not going to help him mend them.

for "treatment" he will be back in a month...healed or not.
