where I read first Nancy seemed to support the guy, then stated there would be an internal look at the issue, and now is telling him to leave.
As I said, who made her change her mind?

3. She said that before knowing Weiner PMed a minor and may have done so with others.
Cherrypicking what Pelosi said is a bit useless at this point. Come Monday, you'll see exactly why.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if he'd been texting men instead of women, he'd be getting some of the tolerance he deserves instead of being smeared as mentally ill.

If they think he should resign becuase he 'needs help' then why are they using the tactics of the sexual sadist to try and smear him?

It is his choice, but do you want paparazzi and smear merchants to rule the world?

If they had some reason for him to resign, shouldn't that have been the story? Not some story using smear out of perspective and out of proportion used against the weakness of society by there desire to gossip.

Although the discussion is not about him, although it is about how people want society to be ran, and what methods should be used to run society.

I think justice and compassion, with transparent information systems works out better then smear merchants.

13. Wow, she is saying he has an addiction problem...
which he most likely does... but that's really harsh in a public statement. I suspect Weiner was not giving into private urging so perhaps thats why all these pointed public statements.

Edited on Sat Jun-11-11 02:08 PM by Lionessa
in Washington. You are wrong here for a couple of reasons. AW may or may not have a problem that needs "help" and you are not qualified to decide. Secondly, even if he has a problem of that magnitude, it hasn't hindered his ability to strongly and firmly, more strongly and firmly than most Dems, ... strongly and firmly defend and promote traditional Dem values.

38. I disagree. When a Speaker of the House advises therapy to a Congressman who twittered his wiener,
we have entered the pathetic zone.

She has every right to pull him aside and ask him to resign if she decides his behavior is politically damaging, but IMO this "seek help" statement was just embarrassing.

36. Party Establishment Politician Defends Party Establishment
Edited on Sat Jun-11-11 04:35 PM by Marr
This position comes from the same mental process that took impeachment "off the table" and acquiesced to a thousand other right-wing agenda items. Pelosi will defend a colleague until she perceives it to be a political drag on others. If defending that colleague seems, from her perspective, a net loss, she will cease defending them.

Not exactly shocking.

Irresponsibility, arrogance, and stupidity are not symptoms of any kind of illness. They do however point to questions regarding credibility and in this case honesty. Everything he has done to follow getting caught has been calculated and deliberate.
