Organizers Hope To Block Protest By Church
Controversial Church Plans To Attend Soldier's Funeral Monday

Thousands of people are coming together to honor a local Marine, and they want to make sure a controversial band of protesters doesn't ruin his funeral.

The controversial Westboro Baptist Church from Topeka, Kan., plans to be in town Monday protesting at three places.

The places: the Gordon Jewish Community Center, the Islamic Center of Nashville and at the funeral of 27-year-old Marine Sgt. Kevin Balduf.

People helping to organize the event say the main goal is to honor a Marine who gave his life for the country and screen the family from the hate-filled signs from Westboro Baptist Church.
