Yay!!! We know the date for The Rapture (again): May 21, 2011
:bounce:

Just saw a local news report about this group; they didn't have a church here in the Raleigh area, so a family moved here to spread the word about the next Coming.

Billboards are popping up all over the country, and they offer free bumperstickers on their website.

Woot!!!

Time to start finding these peeps to ask if we can have their stuff when they go *poof*

:hippie:

21. i keep thinking of those cults that are found dead. remember?
now THEY believed.... and still here we are. or maybe THEY were the chosen and i think that if that were true all these rapture folks would sure be pissed. I guess it's easier when you know you aren't going anywhere. I know this because I have already been told I am going to hell several times.

5. Hmmm. They must believe in themselves more than the Bible
Or God's word ( which is a no-no). They better watch out or they
won't go where they expect to go.

7. Thank you, wise billboard!!!
at least I can graduate!! Yippee! I'd be very pissed at H*m if I did 7 years of a PhD and couldn't graduate.
Now, since Y*u're going to spare my graduation ceremony, please see to it that my parents don't kill each other and ruin my day.

Thank you very much.

9. Why do these goofballs keep doing this?
That billboard is going to look pretty stupid on May 22. I wonder if they have plans to take it down that day.

I read a book about doomsday predictions issued over the years - when they are proved wrong, these groups invariably double down, claiming that the non-occurrence of the end of the world "proves" that they were right. Then they set a new date.

They remind me of right-wingers (which I guess they are) - stuck forever in a fantasy universe of false beliefs. How sad.

10.  “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,
but only the Father." Matthew 24:36

Verse 42 adds: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."

Therefore, by their own holy book, their Word of God, they are liars. Many years ago I studied about the so-called "doctrine" of the Rapture (a word not found in the Bible) including studying its words in the original language to determine their meaning and found it to be a false doctrine that was concocted in the early 19th century by torturing and forcing scriptures together and overlooking prophecies that had already been fulfilled. The early church and Christians knew nothing about a "rapture".

12. They took that out of context...the whole verse is "Whoso keepeth the commandment..."
"...shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment."

And to put it FURTHER into context, it's talking about a *KING'S* commandment (law), and not *the* Commandments.

But hey, cherry-picking shit is what they're all about.

18. That's what I'm thinking any time I catch word of a Rapture date...
I think we should create a website where people who are going to be leaving due to the Rapture can will their stuff to we heathens. Maybe it can be part of their proselytizing to "save" us?

Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 09:54 AM by walldude
the destruction of the world is going to be on Oct 11, 2011.. and these dates are.. well let me quote the site:

"Study the proofs that God has so graciously given in His Word showing us that these dates are 100% accurate and beyond dispute."

Irrefutable! So cough up all your money to the church before the final date, God loves nothing more than a generous donor...

they are just antagonizing (I think that was the word that was used) others. And to think the atheist had only one billboard.

32. I saw one of the billboards already and there is another one to it's left
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 10:33 AM by Motown_Johnny
I would love to get a liberal group to rent the one on the left and put up something like "And if he isn't here by May 22nd you should stop believing all this crap!"

FYI the boards are in Detroit, on Jefferson Ave. near downtown

Edit for clarity, the other board is to the observer's right when looking at the two of them so then can be read. To the left if you were the billboard looking down at the street. So if you read them from left to right you would read the original one first.
