According To Fineman, The Transformation Has Been Completed...
I feel like we need some Star Wars music here...

Bill Daley Named White House Chief Of Staff
Howard Fineman - HuffingtonPost
First Posted: 01- 6-11 12:07 PM | Updated: 01- 6-11 12:50 PM

<snip>

WASHINGTON -- Bill Daley confirmed to the Huffington Post that he is becoming the next White House chief of staff. Asked at 11:55 am if he was taking the job he answered "yes."

Daley's entry into the White House marks President Obama's transition from political outsider to insider, and from South Side Chicago liberal to Downtown Chicago (and Washington) survivalist powerbroker intent on winning another term as president, even if that means alienating the left wing of his party.

And it does...

2. Let's be honest. Obama isn't going to get anything liberal passed in Congress the next two years.
If he is EVER going to pass anything else that IS liberal, he'll need a second term to do it.

We all know that Obama is pragmatic. So this really ought not come as any kind of surprise nor should is really be all that disappointing.

The best we can hope for these next two years is to minimize the damage.

3. Well... I've Learned To Set My Expectations REALLY, REALLY, SMALL...
I was confused at first, because I bought into all that 2008 campaign bullshit.

Won't make THAT mistake again.

8.  "alienating the left wing of his party": 61% of Americans recently
polled that the taxes for the rich should not have reduced. The President is alienating a lot more than the "left wing". He is alienating all Americans who feel that he isn't representing them.

13. There was never a "transformation"
He was always a corporate toady. All that's happened between 2008 and today is that the strobe lights and smoke machines have been shut off.

17. Well, if Howard Fineman says so. It's
so much different now that when he chose Rahm, Hillary, Summers and bunch of other Clinton insiders.

Silliness being passed off as analysis.
