Jesse Ventura ‘assuming the role’ of Hunter S. Thompson
Source: RawReplay
By David Edwards

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura had a perfectly good explanation Wednesday for sitting though a CNN interview while wearing sunglasses.

“What’s with the shades,” CNN host Brooke Baldwin asked at the end of the interview.

“Hunter Thompson’s gone,” Ventura said, “and I’ve been reading a lot of Hunter S. Thompson’s work. And now that he’s not here to warn us anymore about what’s going to happen, I would like to assume the role of Hunter S. Thompson now.”

12. Maybe Venture means he's going to be an aging reclusive crank
same as Thompson was towards the end.

He has most of that down pat, then, except the reclusive part.

Work on that, Jesse, hmmm?

15. Assuming is right.
Don't get me wrong, it's cool that someone thinks differently and stuff, but Jesse Ventura swallows whatever conspiracy theory comes down the pipe. Into the sewer. Most of them are floaters.

16. Looks like
hard nosed investigating isn't quite as titillating as a Anthony's twittered weiner.

Jesse's trying to cover your back by telling you things you need to know about the corrupt world you inhabit while Anthony just wants you to admire his inflated "ego" by putting up what he considers his best front.

Flame away and entertain yourselves some more with the vapid crap your handlers feed you.

17. Well, that's an automatic FAIL but his heart is probably in the right place.
He needs to crank up the drugs and the paranoia to reach the level of truth Thompson could glean out of a situation. If I ever hear him refer to the GOP as "glue-sniffing pedophiles", there may be hope yet.

If you need a Gonzo fix, check this out:
Gonzo, Gonzo, All Fall Down
Review:
". . . reads like Thompson if he was writing his main body of work today and not 35 years ago. . . . it’s mostly laugh out loud funny."
