Congress is no place for anyone who does things like that while in office. If he did it before taking office, I'd forgive him. He did it while a sitting member.
is that his message will be diluted now. It's a Democratic district anyway -- someone else (with Anthony's convictions) might be more effective at this point.
17. Only if we want fewer liberal representatives.
Weiner is a pervert. But don't want to give up his vote in the house. Find someone who would vote similarly to replace him then it should be considered. But forcing him out without a good replacement is just playing into republican's hands.
His district is in NYC; I'm not a New Yorker, but I imagine there is a reasonable bench of local Democratic talent who are monogamous (or failing that, better at keeping their shit on the DL).
set things up so one can be appointed to replace him or win in a special election and all is good for him to step down. I'm only against him immediately stepping down with no replacement and giving republicans and opportunity to score his seat. And whoever takes his spot needs to be honestly liberal, not some lame democrat that votes with republicans. It's a serious thing to consider and we shouldn't be hasty, that's all. ;)
Weiner's misbehavior doesn't seem all that severe to me now, but I would like to see an ethics investigation to determine whether his office was involved at all, which would be more damaging.
