Cain & Pawlenty give :"The Onion" worthy policy speeches
First up yesterday was Tim Pawlenty with a major economic speech. He put forward the usual math challenged GOP assumptions including a tax cut 3 times larger than the Hush tax cuts. But it's the lynch pin of his plan that would expect to find in The Onion.

“If you can find a good or service on the Internet, then the federal government probably doesn’t need to be doing it,” Mr. Pawlenty says. “The post office, the government printing office, Amtrak, Fannie and Freddie , were all built in a time in our country when the private sector did not adequately provide those products. That’s no longer the case.”

Google test? You can get a high school diploma or a college degree on line, In Pawlenty's world that means no involvement in public education and Amtrak? Amtrak offers the only intercity rail service in the U.S. You can Google their schedule and you can download pictures of your destination but you'll still need Google to get there.

Later in the day, Herman Cain came out with his own Onion inspired policy. Referring the ACA bill, checking in at over 2,700 pages he's got a better alternative:

CAIN: Engage the people. Don’t try to pass a 2,700 page bill — and even they didn’t read it! You and I didn’t have time to read it. We’re too busy trying to live — send our kids to school. That’s why I am only going to allow small bills — three pages. You’ll have time to read that one over the dinner table.

That's shorter than the pizza menu at his former pizza company. It's also shorter than every bill that's passed save those honoring soneone or naming something after soneone. I guess he won't sign his own tax cutting bill or any other policy bill he might want to pass.

The audience cheered this comment, showing that they're just as dumb. Three page bills, the answer to America's problems. And the media takes these clowns seriously.
