Keith hasn't taked to Rachel since he's been gone from MSNBC
Keith Olbermann has a bombshell interview in the latest edition of The Hollywood Reporter. In the interview, Olbermann fully breaks his silence about his stormy exit from MSNBC, and reveals, among other things, that he is not talking to former protege Rachel Maddow anymore.

.....Olbermann also revealed that he has not spoken to Maddow since his departure from MSNBC.

1. Sounds as if it is for her own good rather than hard feelings
"There were lots of people who were forced to choose sides," he said. "And particularly in Rachel's case, I didn't want to add to the pressure on her already. The last thing I need to do is be calling her up and saying, 'How's that Michael Steele working out for you?' Which is exactly what I would do if I were in the office." MSNBC, he said.

18. I figured that would be how it would go
Since the subject line seemed to imply bad feelings between them. I was hoping that my post would help alleviate the stupidity. Oh, well.

3. KO?
Who cares?

I haven't listened to him since the last primaries. I thought his advocacy on behalf of one candidate over all other party candidates - and one in particular - was inappropriate at best. So I turned the bastard off. Haven't missed him.

With his move to Current TV I don't even have to try to ignore him.

4. He likes to burn bridges. Rachel didn't deserve to be blindsided and she doesn't
deserve the silent treatment. He has to act like a 4 yr. old and make people pick sides instead of a mature adult who could talk to her as a friend. She is better off and doing quite well without his
guidance.

8. Maybe Keith was too busy to call Rachel?
And considering that she is working for MSNBC, she probably shouldn't talk to him when she is working. That may not leave much time for him and her to chat.

I love both Rachel and Keith. I do hope that Keith makes a big dent for Progressives in the media. I look forward to his show, but unfortunately, my cable company doesn't carry Current TV. I did send them an email asking them to do so.

11. Not reading too much into this.
It seems like a lot of assumptions and reading between the lines are being made.

13. That section of the interview makes him sound like a real prick
Like he couldnt have a conversation without rubbing something in her face (whether it be Michael Steele or whatever). Not very mature of KO in my opinion

14. This "Keith" and "Rachel" friends of yours?
Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 11:12 PM by alcibiades_mystery
It's completely common for people who don't work together anymore to cease contact.

I think you probably have an imaginary understanding of their relationship. Olbermann and Maddow worked together. Now they don't. So they don't talk.

So what?

I don't talk to a lot of people I used to work with, even if I liked them when we worked together.

15. Not because they are angry or anything like that - I understood him
to mean that for her sake he had not talked to her. To keep the pressure off.
