There's a lesson to be learned.
Don't put your faith in politicians. Put your faith in ideas. Politicians are human. They will disappoint you. Ideas are built on a sound foundation and stand the test of time. Don't stand up and defend undeserving politicians. Defend the ideas that make us Democrats.

I am glad that I chose to wait and see, even though it may have ticked some off last week.

4. "Defend the ideas that make us Democrats". Which is what
Weiner does in spades.

5. Absolutely.
I remember reading an elaborate defense of Weiner on DKos and now feel bad for the people who spent so much time on research when all Weiner had to do was tell the truth.

This is all so sad. Weiner was basically a good guy (well, a good Dem). Sometimes you wonder if the cosmos is playing a joke on us all - this one is so obvious it's painful. It's unfortunate that he couldn't resist the urge to twitter his peeter. Why???? I'll never understand it. Maybe because I have no peeter to twitter, and to be honest, I've never even had an iota of a desire to twitter my twatter. Maybe something happens to you when you become 'famous' and you think you're immune from consequences. Or you just become really stupid.

7. Good post.
I get fed up with political coverage which is all about Tweety's beloved "horse race". Ideas should be the focus, all the way down the line. The bad economic ideas which led to our current mess should have been challenged loudly and discredited. But it's always about the personalities. The ideas are the important thing.
