Here are some issuses that you are NOT talking about
1.- A certain Justice (Thomas) who has engaged in quite possibly fraud... as well as a few other pieces of misconduct.

2.- Yes, the debt ceiling and the RNC objective of crashing the economy in order to get back power.

3.- Quite possibly many in the private sector going GALT, see point two.

4.- Fukushima and it's effects in the environment and how we protect the industry.

These are some of the things that our media is not covering... Mission Accomplished.

5. Nuclear renassaince
it can't happen if the people fight it. In the US the media does engage in message and story control

7. How about solar and wind and wave and conservation renaissance?
I hope you can speak Japanese so you can go discuss nuclear renaissance with those folks. There are plenty of ashes from which a nuclear phoenix could arise in their country. But from here, it looks like overcooked turkey to me.

PS: Spell-check can be your friend, particularly before you post your OP to catch misspellings in your title. You should know that by now.

10. Ah spell police
As to Japan... it is dead... Neato Kan wants to move AWAY from it.

But this is not about Japan... this is about the United States, where yes OUR President wants to fund MORE reactors.

18. Funny since I am not the one endorsing any support
to the nuclear industry... funny that YOU read that.

Again why go after the spell flame? Spell Warrior perhaps?

Have a good day... you obviously have no idea who is protecting the nuclear industry... lives currently at 1600 Penn... you might want to google that up.

I knew exactly what you meant... it would have taken a lot of internal spin for me to take it any other way.

did not declare her take-home pay for tax purposes for the past ten years.

8. I did not declare some income a few years ago
The IRS got me and I had to pay taxes on it. And I bet the amount I didn't report was a lot less than Thomas' wife. In fact I'm sure of it because mine was a one time thing where hers was over ten years. So anyway, when is she going to have to pay taxes on that income?

9. I suppose it partially depends on when the Dem. leaders will get
up enough guts to call the Thomases on it. Up till now they seem to prefer to
leave it off the table.

16. First I've heard of people 'quite possibly going Galt'
apart from the prats who were talking about it over 2 years ago, because Obama got elected. Seriously, you haven't just seen some idiot blogger saying he was going to do it?

21. (a) I have no desire to read 'Atlas Shrugged', which most DUers and critics say is awful
both as literature and politics/philosophy; I have no idea why you'd suggest I should bother reading it
(b) I got the reference (since DU still talks about AS a lot); but 'going Galt' is normally used to mean giving up work altogether (if not doing the whole disappearing thing that happens in the book). It would have helped a lot if you'd just said "companies aren't hiring".

22. actually it is a classic of sci fi
and going galt, full reference here, means holding on to your money and NOT investing to show them that the wealthy are a force to be reckoned. Given that a work of fiction has become the philosophy of the RW business establishment, the allusion to John Galt is correct... They are refusing to invest, and hire... to show us. Just as John Galt in this work of fiction did.
