Jon Stewart Destroys CNN 'Coverage' of Weiner's Weenie
Here's why so many people trust Jon Stewart's Daily Show for 'real' news than Corporate Noise Network. This is a Daily Show transcript excerpt from DKos:

By the way, those liberal and conservative blogs having an all-out war; they're probably not doing anything about this story. Except showing that the Exif tags from the photo don't match the camera Weiner normally uses, although analysis of the actual yfrog image shows no signs of manipulation, although it's very odd that the only person who actually saw the original tweet has a history of sending harassing messages to the woman who'd received the tweet and others who follow the Congressman on Twitter.

Wow! Those blogs! That sounds a lot like reporting. Slow down, Woodward and Blogstein! Let the big boys at CNN handle this with their trademark "I guess we'll never know!"

Please take note that Jon Stewart, who makes no claims to be anything other than a TV comic, took the trouble to search the net for information on the Exif tags for the Twitter pic. Somehow I doubt that the CNN talking heads even know what an Exif tag is.

Transcript and video of the Daily Show segment are here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/06/01/981057/-Jon-Stewart-BLASTS-CNN-over-their-despicable-coverage-of-Weinergate?via=sidebyuserrec

2. Weiner is his buddy after all.

I was screaming when Jon said Weiner was his friend and there was "no f-ing way" that pic was of him. Lol.

Apparently they even roomed together on some trip. Stewart thinks he would have noticed.

9. How do we even know that it's ANYONE'S weenie?
We haven't even answered the basic question yet--animal, vegetable or mineral? I'd bet on a member of the Cucurbita family myself.

3. There is no "news media" in America anymore.
Just conduits for RW and corporate propaganda. The sooner the Dems realize that & stop treating CNN et al as if they are real news media, the better off everyone will be.

"...it's very odd that the only person who actually saw the original tweet has a history of sending harassing messages to the woman who'd received the tweet and others who follow the Congressman on Twitter."

Why am I ONLY hearing about this on a so-called comedy show? And why don't the major corporate "news" outlets ask Breitbart about that and the fact that he has always been wrong, and every story he "exposes" turns out (after it's investigated by real responsible journalists) to be a lie? Why do they allow him a forum to further spread his lies?

4. At least not on TV
i think there's some real reporting going on in the print media, but there's one fact we all need to face about tv "news" - it's all about delivering an audience to advertisers. Very little to none of it is about factual reporting. It's about the $$$$$$, not about informing or educating the American public.

And face it, we watch. We listen. We subject ourselves to their advertisers propaganda. And we pay for the "privilege" to do so.

And many of us don't/won't pay read real reporting anymore.

5. The idea that Weiner would have sent that e-mail to that particular
young woman is just preposterous. Breitbart has really gone too far this time, and his Shirley Sherrod dirty trick was really bad. I hope she gets a good lawyer to make Breitbart's life utterly miserable for a long time.

6. I read the transcript of Dan Wolfe's online interview with "filmladd" last night
&, as Jon Stewart pointed out, I kept thinking it's AMAZING that Wolfe was the ONLY ONE in twitterland to see that 5 seconds of the picture.

Wolfe mentioned his hatred for Rep. Weiner throughout the interview. The man is paranoid about being openly involved with this, which is amusing because he was hoping someone else would do the dirty work for him but it backfired.

The interview is tedious to read, but it's a glaring peek into a nasty rightwinger's thought process: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/06/04/982102/-Breitbarts-#TwitterhoaxWhat-We-Know-Now?via=siderec

8. WE discussed that in detail back when all the "Sarah pics" disappeared
form the web, and then re-appeared days later with dates & any exif data scrubbed..

I (and others) screencapped a LOT of pics in anticipation of them being "changed"..

The only pics that were seriously "scrubbed" clean seemed to be ones that would have showed her miraculous/mysterious 7 week pregnancy, and pics of Bristol in various stages of her 8 month bout of mono:)
