Mitt Romney, GOP presidential hopeful, says global warming is real
Mitt Romney, the newest Republican to declare himself a candidate for President, sounded suspiciously like a Democrat when he said Friday that global warming is real.

Does this mean he is done?

3. He is SO done.
I'll say it again. One by one they will be forced out by the neocon robots. All that will be left is Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann.

4. Thanks for playing, Mittens!
Back on the bus with your boys Brad, Buff, Biff and Boink. Next year's Republican nomination is going to be for the bull goose loony candidate, not someone who can take a reasonable position from time to time. Better get shut of that global warming thing or kiss the nomination good-bye.

6. you have to parse that
"I don't speak for the scientific community, of course, but I believe the world's getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that."

First half, impossible to argue statistics. But saying humans contribute isn't quantifiable. He can easily say they contribute but the human effect on temperature relative to other factors is negligible. Romney would be toast if he said he believes in global warming being primarily caused by humans and must be corrected by legislative means that penalize the use of fossil fuels or eating meat through taxation and regulation. Otherwise, it probably is wise strategy to offer a opinion without a legislative response giving the appearance of moderation.

12. this does not, in and of itself, end his run
He's already got some serious negatives going into the primary. An apparently reasonable position on a matter of settled science probably won't come up much in the GOP debates, and he can always fudge the "humans contribute to it" part. So compared to being a Mormon, or having instituted an Obama-esque health care system in Massachusetts, etc., this won't finish him. It might limit his access to the fossil fuel industry's cash baskets, but they're likely to hedge bets with him anyway.

some veteran Repig pol said "George Romney trying to get elected president is like a duck trying to fuck a football." Mittens just found his football.

16. That doesn't work when the Tea Party
send forth their minions to attack Gringrich. I suspect that Romney is trying to grab centrists, but you can't make it to that point by making the rabid Tea Party angry.

29. Teabaggers don't like intelligent people
Mittens and Gingrich are far too intellectual for the Tea Party. They're still evil fucks, but the teabaggers prefer evil AND dumb. Notice they weren't crazy for Trump either.

Why do you think they love Palin so much?

and make sure to prevent democracy just enough to get him the nomination. They've got to be smoking scared of the other lunatics running.

23. This isn't unusual for most Goopers
Most Repugs are ready to admit that global warming exists...it's just they don't believe it's caused by humans.
