Sarah Palin shows her lightning-fast political instincts and breadth of historical knowledge,,,
on "Paul Revere's Ride"
“He who warned, uh, the…the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and um by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that uh we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free…and we were gonna be armed.”

52. The first comment I read at YouTube® was precious
Paul Revere went on to become a legendary lumberjack in Minnesota along with his trusty blue ox Babe Ruth. Sadly Babe then died of Mad Cow disease or as it was called back then Lou Gehrigs disease. Revere was never the same, he hit the bottle pretty hard, but on the plus side he then found Jesus, and changed his name to Saul and became a famous saint. He was burned at the state by the British who had sailed to America in Joan's Ark. His place of death is now the Minnesota state capital, St. Paul

18. So does stupid apparently
a good chunk of our citizenry wants her to be president.

But a person only needs to have a couple more IQ points than someone else to appear smarter. I really think Palin appeals to people who just aren't very bright. They can relate to her. Remember in 2008 those people who loved Palin because "She's just like ME!!"

They're usually better socializers than I am, and I get tongue-tied thinking "my God, where do I begin?"

You cannot have a coherent political or religious discussion with these people because you cannot have a coherent discussion about anything with these people. They just plain don't "think" like we do.

55. Imagine a Palin/Bachmann duo in the Oval Office
Or vice-versa, if they were to win the GOP nomination, and then "somehow" the '12 presidential election as the Rethug POTUS and VPOTUS candidates.

Yikes!!

Yeah, I know that the odds of that very unrealistic scenario actually happening are extremely low, but I do believe that potentially millions, if not tens of millions in the US would actually pull the "voting lever" for them. It would be interesting to see how many would have voted for them, so that we would then have a better idea of what the percentage really is of complete morans who are living in the US.

But building an igloo in Nunavut, Canada, or Vostok, Antartica, or maybe a mountain cave in Kathmandu, Nepal would not be far enough away from the US for me to run away to and try to survive after their (s)election on 11/06/12.

Her accent is virtually identical to the one found in northern Minnesota, North Dakota, much of Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. Dropping gs at the end of words is pretty common in that syntax.

75 Percent of Oklahoma High School Students Can't Name the First President of the U.S.
Posted: Sep 16, 2009 1:17 PM EDT Updated: Oct 06, 2009 10:54 AM EDT

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Only one in four Oklahoma public high school students can name the first President of the United States, according to a survey released today.

The survey was commissioned by the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs in observance of Constitution Day on Thursday.

***snip***

Dutcher said this is not just a problem in Oklahoma. He said Arizona had similar results, which left him concerned for the entire country.

"Jefferson later said that a nation can't expect to be ignorant and free," Dutcher said. "It points to a real serious problem. We're not going to remain ignorant and free."

Here is an interesting civics test to see how much you know about government and American history.

Full Civic Literacy Exam (from our 2008 survey)

Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better? Questions were drawn from past ISI surveys, as well as other nationally recognized exams

http://www.isi.org/quiz.aspx?q=FE5C3B47-9675-41E0-9CF3-072BB31E2692

At the end of the test you can review just how well elected officials did.

Elected Officials Score Lower than the General Public

The ISI civic Literacy survey was not designed to test the civic knowledge of elected officials, but it did discover evidence of an interesting pattern that may merit further exploration.

Of the 2,508 People surveyed, 164 say they have held an elected government office at least once in their life. Their average score on the civic literacy test is 44%, compared to 49% for those who have not held an elected office. Officeholders are less likely than other respondents to correctly answer 29 of the 33 test questions. This table shows the “knowledge gap” for each question: the difference between the percentage of common citizens who answered correctly and the percentage of officeholders who answered correctly.
