Many Utahn's in a quandry
So many tea baggers in Utah, and so many of those teabaggers are mormons...and today meted out a political quandry. To their jubliant and righeous joy, Mittens announces a run of the office. Hallejua's and prayers all coming is way. But, but but, Palin is the teabaggers darlin'. She pissed all over Mitt's show. For so many tea party mormons, this type of stuff just isn't quite right.

1. Popcorn!
 Not for your post but for how this little drama is going to play out in Joseph Smith/Brigham Young Land. Since Mittens is a convert, maybe they aren't that married to him. Also, isn't Sarah's family originally Catholic?

14. I think the bozo who replaced Ensign...Heller...is also a Mormon...
Reid is a putz in any case...he was fortunate enough to have a criminally insane opponent.

3. Huntsman is not very popular with Tea partiers in Utah. Oh, and Orrin Hatch is toast.
Hatch will not be reelected here. That's how far right we are in Utah. Hatch is too liberal.

6. Hatch finally a gonner?
he does seem to be sucking wind lately. But he does seem so deeply entrenched, it's just hard to imagine. And yeah, local Utah tea partiers do realize Huntsman is much too centrinst. But I don't think the rest of the nation know this, especially his recent Ryan butt kiss campaign.

9. Yes, Jason Chaffetz announced today he will run against Hatch. Chaffetz is a god in these parts
and for reasons I don't understand, the GOP hates Hatch. A friend of my son did some polling a few months back. Republicans in sky high numbers )like 70% or more if I remember correct) said they hated Hatch and would vote for anyone else. When asked why they hated Hatch they could not give a reason. Stem cell research (Hatch supports it)? Hatch spoke to Ted Kennedy once? We have no idea.

15. Chaffetz is an idiot imo
Pretending to save tax payer money by bunking, cooking, showering in his elected office at the gov't building. Apparently he thinks everyone else is an idiot too.

Chaffetz his seriously a hatemonger and his kind of popularity tend to be short lived. I take that back....look at Buttars. Utah *sigh*

5. I live in Utah,
and this whole state is full of those sanctimonious holier than thou mormons.

I DEMAND SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, DAMMIT!

Nope, never happen... the mormon church OWNS the government here.

7. I do believe more non-mormons are starting to run for state office...
....but the 'establishment' has a powerful voting force. Not unlike unions imho. The temple influence can be clipped with electing people with varied backgrounds.

8. not state wide office, the last one we had was AG Jan Graham and that was a fluke
dems win in Salt Lake but that's all. The rest of the state is wacko. Jim Matteson is in the House but he's a right wing looney even though he's a dem.

12. Jackie Biskupski but she is in the state house, not a state wide office
Jan Graham was the last to win state wide when we had a totally wacko AG named Wilkenson (R) (if memory serves, which it often doesn't) who had followed Hansen who was also a wacko (R). There was a bit of a back lash but Jan couldn't win now. Not in a state where Orin Hatch is to liberal!

11. The thing that struck me the few times I got
stuck in Utah because of car problems was that you guys are running a theocracy and it's totally against the US Constitutional premise of separation of church and state.

13. I'd say the bigger quandry is having Mitt Romney ASSOCIATED with Utah.
Eww. :puke: He makes "Morman" seem like a four-letter word.
