Blogger claims to have figured out how Weiner was framed

Has anyone replicated this with their own accounts? And is it only Twitter photos that can be messed with like this? Just wondering.

1. So why can't Weiner rule out that it's his picture? n/t

3. If not guilty, he sounds incredibly incautious . . .
maybe he let someone take the picture as a joke, and he sent it to someone once . . . and it was out there, ready to get him.

18. I don't email or send private pictures to anyone. If you do,
you're taking a huge risk, if you're a high profile person.

7. Maybe he accidentally took a pic of his lap...
...while playing with his phone. Maybe he recognized the brand of underwear, but doesn't know why?

My iPhone's camera roll has several accidental shots of my feet, my lap, the insides of my pants pocket, etc. I don't know why, but I know that I've taken a few photos by mistake.

16. I thought the same thing.
Every time I go through my iPhone pics I find weird shots of my lap or my feet. If you showed me one of those shots, I'd know it was me but I wouldn't know when, why or how it was taken.

Then factor in the iPhone's autocorrect spelling feature... I can certainly imagine how a picture can be accidentally tweeted to some random person after a few clicks one night after I've had a few beers.

I think the picture would be "framed" a bit better if it was on purpose... It's not a shot I would send to show off anything of mine.

12. He didn't SEND the picture....but it's HIM..
Is my theory.....if he didn't send it out he didn't do anything wrong (and, he's kinda hot JUST SAYIN'!!)

19. I agree. If he didn't send it, there's nothing to criticize.
But his non-denial-denial is just making things appear worse than they are.

"Yeah it's my picture, someone hacked my computer and stole it, and sent it on."

26. Now how would you be so familiar with being "ready to get him"?
I really admire the way you've expanded the narrative.

Why there's a whole new set of questions to distract him and the media with. That's clever.

27. Anyone who's using the new media needs to be cautious.
Because once you send anything out, it's out of your control, and the whole world can have access to it in seconds -- including anyone who would like to harm you.

My daughter and her friends learned about this when they were in middle school but, unfortunately, some adults still haven't figured this out yet.

5. Because it probably IS him in that picture. And who cares?
Blitzer asks him today: "Is there anybody you are protecting?"
Weiner "Yes, my mother"

He got HACKED. They probably got access to pictures of him. Why would he have a picture like that? Wife: "Do those new undies fit?" Winer: "I thought they did, but now that I'm talking to you they seem a little tight" (attached picture) "Wife: Oooh! "

Contrary to apparent media belief, so long as Weiner didn't send the picture, the only pervert in this scenario is the person who hacked his computer to get into private sexual communication between his wife and him.

6. Maybe because it could be his picture.
I could have been a "private" picture from his hacked account... sent to his wife or partner, etc. Many people have "private" information in their accounts and they are susceptible to be hacked.

11. And moreso, if one watches his interview with Rachel on the DU forum, he....
...indicates that he's not keen on denying it's a picture of him flat-out because there's a possibility that in some way it could be a picture of him which has undergone a digital manipulation of sorts. He's playing it very carefully, but I don't think it's out of guilt. I think he's conscious of the fact that he could be in the first stage of a one-two setup.

planning on banning pics of ones own genitalia on ones phone. No more sending pics of your pee pee to your wife/girlfriend.

just not this person. So the fuck what? I've shared worse than that.

20. Because the lawyers told him to.
But I assume that doesn't satisfy a puerile hunger for sleaze.

By all means, fantasize Weiner in the House Men's Room, posing and clicking away with his phone. And let's add in a few freshman congressmen. There's a whole file of crotch shots of congressmen.

They're planning a Christmas calendar.

Weiner is January.

10. this information suggests that the photo was placed into
weiner's twitter account by someone other than he. and that it was placed there the day that it was "discovered" rather than three days earlier when it was claimed to have been sent.

YFROG is an image hosting service that works with Twitter. In order to upload an image to someone else's YFROG account you need to obtain that person's YFROG email address > send an email with an image to that account, using @thepersonsusername as the Subject Line and you can easily upload an image to that person's YFROG account and as well, post to their Twitter feed.
