Poll question: I've been out of work for...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for participating in this poll. Also, this has nothing to do with President Obama, who I feel is doing the best he possibly can. This poll just aspires to get some kind of Gage on the employment level of DU participants.

My heart goes out to every single person struggling right now.

I have been out of work for some time now, and I have been out of work...

3. You can't gauge the employment level of DU participants unless..
you also add a category for "I haven't been out of work."

Your only respondents are going to be people who have been out of work, so the unemployment rate will be 100%!

6. I am very interested to see where this goes. Perhaps you should add a section for currently
employed. I would like to see what the numbers break down to. I am convinced nationwide unemployment is more like 20% just based off of who I know and what I see everyday.

10. I was unemployed for 11 weeks...
And had an ex-boss who flat-out lied to the state to get me denied my unemployment. My husband was unemployed for over a year. As bad as that was, I can't even imagine what some people here are going through. We were lucky to have family to help us out, but so many more are having to do it on their own.

11. Other: I resigned from my job more than two years ago and have been working from home ever since.
If I hadn't resigned, I would have been laid off two weeks later.

14. Laid off from part-time work for a month now.
I was underemployed, which was tough but survivable. Burned through small amount of cash savings fast. I am losing my freakin' mind. Battling depression and feelings of worthlessness. I get busy again in a week or two. Garden in the spring to look forward to.

15. I was laid off in April 2009 and retired in May 2010, if
I wouldn't have retired I would have been been unemployed for 21 months so far.
