What's the social engineering aspect of all this talk about people needing a "calling" in life
to work. Over the past couple of weeks, this word has suddenly started popping up quite a bit. I've heard it on news programs, as part of interviews, and even Barbara Walters was tossing it around on The View this past week. What is the purpose of tossing the notion out there that the only way you can be successful is if your job is a religious and holy venture? Does that build in a component that you are doing the Lord's work and thus compensation for your true effort can remain inadequate for sustaining your family?

I don't know if any one else has noticed this word creeping in but everytime I've heard it used, I cringe.

1. synchronicity
it happens sometimes...your brain highlights certain information because something's going on in your subconscious that is trying to break out.

Have fun with your calling :)

2. It's been used for certain professions for years
to justify underpaying us. Nursing, teaching, etc. As if we were nuns or something.
