I want to believe Congressman Weiner and truthfully don't care if he is tweeting 50 pictures of his
peepee a day, and I can't stand that piece of shit Brietbart, BUT:

1) He looks guilty in that ambush piece CNN did today. I just honestly don't see how that helps him and I want to believe this is a Brietbart set up..but his responses today make it hard.

2) Who gives a shit if he tweeted it to some willing person. Answer, the media. They now smell blood in the water and will not give this up.

3)Why are men such idiots? Don't take a picture you don't want to see on the front page of the newspaper if you are a politician.

Okay bash away.

1. Why would he send it to someone he'd never met?
Just some stranger and from his known tweet account? That doesn't make sense either.

I am hoping he is just waiting while he gets a legal team ready to go for the jugular. At least I hope cause he's one of my favorite politicians!

3. Yeah, that doesn't make sense unless he was having some sort of social media "relationship" with her
I can't figure it out and I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because of Breitbart, but that CNN piece was bad for him.

all i saw was what Stewart played (and destroyed) about him not calling in the cops to check out if he'd been hacked. Was there more?

than any other news story. For all the attention it's been getting, it must really be some wiener.

4. "Have you stopped beating your kids?" is an old tactic. If you don't get why your post is so
ignorant and plays into the oppositions hands, you need to really to do some self-searching.

How many times must Weiner deny something?

Why not inform yourself about the situation?

9. If he denied sending the picture and I missed it, then I am misinformed. I heard him not answer that
question repeatedly. I am aware the office put out a statement saying he had been hacked. Does it explicitly say he didn't send the picture?

11. That is the point...
Let's just say that all the information is out there on blogs, twitter and a multitude of other sources. They aren't international TV.

All Weiner has to say is "I've already denied these ludicrous accusations and have opened an investigation into who has perpetrated this outrageous criminal act"

Instead he acts like a spoiled child with something to hide. Not everyone is going to go out and dig for every little nugget you want them to.

RWers were always asking why Obama didn't just show the long-form birth certificate--and as soon as he did, they started claiming it was a fake.

You don't want to believe Weiner at all. in fact you have found him guilty because "he looks guilty" in an interview. All that despite the long track record of bullshit smears from Breitbart.

it to say,

1) I didn't send the tweet.
2) I am or am not reporting this to the FBI because of xyz
3) Now that I have answered that I am moving on.

40. Why, oh why won't Obama just show his long-form birth certficate?"
Edited on Tue May-31-11 11:08 PM by tblue37
That's all the crazed rightwingers ever wanted.

Of course, when he did show it, they immediately began to call it a fake.

And no matter what Weiner says, the RW will find a way to twist it. Why should he allow them to derail the public discussion of real issues?

Lyndon Johnson once said he wanted to put out a story that his opponent screwed pigs. When one of his aides said, "But that isn't true," Johnson replied, "I know it isn't, but I want him to have to publicly deny that he screws pigs!"

This is typical Rovian/Breitbartian dirty tricks.

Give it a rest.

19. Perhaps because you arrived late in the drama?
This "thing" started after midnight on Friday. Congressman Weiner addressed it right after and stated his account had been hacked. The young woman in question released a statement stating she has never met the congressman, does not have a relationship with him, did not see the image that was supposedly sent to her Twitter account and has been consistently harassed by the wingnut that claims to have discovered this YFROG image. All of that took place before the CNN ambush.

The questioning by Dana Bash and her reporter cohort was no more than an attempt to create drama where there is none and a furthering of the disreputable instigator that is Andy Breitbart.

Edited on Tue May-31-11 10:31 PM by quiller4
was a right wing hack attack. The recipient is an active Young Dem and frequently posts progressive comments on a variety of blogs as well as tweeting progressive messages. She says that she has been subject to multiple rightwing hack attacks and that she passed on the name of the individual she suspects is responsible to the Congressman's staff. It is right and appropriate for Weiner to consult a tech savy attorney to investigate further and see if he can take civil action against the individual.
