One percent holds 39 percent of global wealth
Source: Raw Story
By Agence France-Presse

WASHINGTON — Around one percent of households have 39 percent of the globe's wealth according to a study published Tuesday, pointing to increased inequalities in the wake of the global downturn.

The number of millionaire households across the globe increased 12 percent in 2010, according to The Boston Consulting Group report, increasing millionaires' share of wealth from 37 percent in 2009.

Despite being at the epicenter of the global financial meltdown, the United States had by far the most millionaires last year, with 5,220 millionaire households, and increase of 1.3 percent from the previous year.

Japan was second with 1,530 and China third with 1,110.

5. Good Serfs
do not question the holdings of their Lords.

All we can do is be good and accept the Pavlovian rewards that are supposed to keep us complacent and docile. That is, even as they squeeze tighter and tighter on our rations and tug harder on the leash.

6. Globalized capitalism
probably could use an alternative "sphere of influence" to keep the capitalists honest and engaged in trying to win people over, mitigating complacency and arrogance and insatiable greed.

7. What percentage...
... of the global population lives on less than two dollars a day? Less than one dollar? I'm told that the American standard of living has to level out with that. Which strangely doesn't apply to this top one percent. The purpose of our civilization has become to build bigger billionaires, and nothing else. That can't lead anywhere good, I'm thinking.

8. At the height of his fortune, Bill Gates could have made 40,000 millionaires.

OK, maybe a mill each is a little low. Double it.

Bill Gates, aka ONE FUCKING DUDE, had the power of 20,000 people with 2,000,000 each, or more people than we have in total as millionaires in the entire country, though you can bet those millionaires have more than a couple million each.

THIS IS CENTRALIZED PLANNING!

This is what's wrong with America. We wouldn't know a free market if it came up and slapped us in the face.
