Wisconsin: Kloppenburg Concedes Supreme Court Election
http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/122872838.html

<snip>

Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg said Tuesday that she was conceding the Supreme Court race to Justice David Prosser, ending what had been a contentious campaign that culminated in a rare statewide recount.

Kloppenburg made the concession at a Madison news conference just over a week after the state's Government
Accountability Board reported that final count numbers showed Prosser with 7,006 more votes.

She said she had run a campaign that was respectful, honest and fair.

Her decision to concede is expected to pave the way for Prosser to begin a new, 10-year term on Aug. 1.

2. Very, very poor decision by Kloppenburg
Hopefully several lawsuits will be filed against the entire Wisconsin government to prevent Prosser from being re-sworn until the matter of the fuckup is RESOLVED.

3. Lawsuits need to be filed in Waukesha County.
But is that possible, or feasible?

I have followed this closely, but their election laws are not the same as in my state.

5. Anything's possible as long as they've got BALLS.
Kloppenburg apparently lack the balls to fight this.

The recall will have to be successful in order to end Walker's directives.

11. Bullshit
She rose from a thirty point deficit 8 weeks before the election. She fought hard and demanded a recount. The recount showed anomalies that will likely result in procedural changes and possibly help change our election laws for the better.

Kudos to her for her fight.

18. Nikki - I know you live in Waukesha County
You need to FORCE out Kathy Nicholson, and have her indicted for every election crime there is. Anything less is wholly unacceptable.

That is your job as a citizen living in that county.

I know you and other fellow DU'ers have witnessed strange stuff, but strange stuff is what can cause an overturn of the election.

8. Do the voters have any standing to sue over the irregularities?
This should't be let go without some real investigations.

9. They can come out in huge numbers next election and throw the bastards OUT
Prosser is there for 10 years, BUT, they can immediately set out NEW RULES for election processes and throw out the idiots who are currently running things..

16. You'd think that somebody in WI would take the initiative.
I don't think unions themselves would have standing but certainly any members who are voters would and the unions could provide the legal aid.

17. It is my understanding that only the candidate has standing to sue
If anyone could sue, there would be chaos and elections would never be resolved.
