Thank god for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr!

He outlined the sorry history of our energy policy on Morning Joe earlier this morning. I have been telling this story to people who were too young to remember or weren't born yet when Carter left the White House and Reagan came in and reversed the policy to give our energy agenda completely over to the oil and coal interests.

Even Joe Scum shut up long enough to hear Kennedy speak. Dr. Jeffrey Sachs was beaming at Kennedy, so pleased to hear him say what He, Sachs, has been trying to say on MJ whenever he gets the chance.

This was an exercise in decency and common sense. Kennedy expressed what had happened in West Virginia and in the country's overall energy policy in terms of patriotism, which is certainly is, and true democracy. He even used the hell (oil and coal) and heaven (green energy, esp. wind) analogy! Did I LOVE that!

It was a terrific segment. going now to email the show with my congrats and a BIG :thumbsup:

No, JOe didn't fume or sputter. He was respectful and listened quietly. What could he say? Jeffrey Sachs, a regular contributor, was seconding what Kennedy was saying and you could tell he was glad not to be the only bearer of this truth.

I think Kennedy gave the most articulate, clear, concise and eloquent argument for clean energy that I have EVER heard.

3. RFK Jr was great!

He's so knowledgeable about the energy policies of the last forty years
and how Reagan dismantled the move to clean solar energy.

He also understands the way government is stuck in the thrall of oil
and coal lobbies and the legislators from coal states.

which I plan to go see when it hits my local "art house" theater.

It would be nice if it could be shown at the regular movie theatres but that ain't gonna happen...

6. My Son and I read the article about

Britain(?) phasing out nuclear energy within ten years. I hope the law passes. I wish the world would do the same. There is no doubt that we are destroying ourselves in so many ways, just so a few people(?) can profit.

Green is our salvation and we could employ millions by switching to this healthy, free (it should be), form of energy.

We had so much hope for Vann Jones and his goals. That is why the energy companies destroyed his reputation. Although, IMO, his past affiliations were benign and did not come close to grounds for dismissal.
