Shoot thyself in the foot?
One thing I have noticed since joining DU are the groups with valid causes, and concerns, who go overboard in their zeal to justify them. Whether it is the pro-Obama...he can do no wrong, or the anti-Obama...he can do no right, or the LGBT community, if you become fanatical any chance for intelligent discussion seems to disappear. I believe we can have very strong convictions while maintaining a civil, intelligent conversation with those we disagree with.
