Paul Ryan is a liar?
See Paul Krugman's comments:

<snip>
Mr. Ryan may claim — and he may even believe — that he’s facing a backlash because his opponents are lying about his proposals. But the reality is that the Ryan plan is turning into a political disaster for Republicans, not because the plan’s critics are lying about it, but because they’re describing it accurately.

Take, for example, the statement that the Ryan plan would end Medicare as we know it. This may have Republicans screaming “Mediscare!” but it’s the absolute truth: The plan would replace our current system, in which the government pays major health costs, with a voucher system, in which seniors would, in effect, be handed a coupon and told to go find private coverage.

The new program might still be called Medicare — hey, we could replace government coverage of major expenses with an allowance of two free aspirins a day, and still call it “Medicare” — but it wouldn’t be the same program. And if the cost estimates of the Congressional Budget Office are at all right, the inadequate size of the vouchers — which by 2030 would cover only about a third of seniors’ health costs — would leave many if not most older Americans unable to afford essential care.

If anyone is lying here, it’s Mr. Ryan himself, who has claimed that his plan would give seniors the same kind of coverage that members of Congress receive — an assertion that is completely false.

3. I'm already sick of "Medi-scare", and they've just started using it.
I'm sure this dumb buzzword will join "ObamaCare" and "death panels" and all the other endlessly parroted, meaningless talking points from the far right. It's especially rich coming from the Party Of Fear (as in, well, "death panels"), which has tried to kill Medicare from the moment of its inception. (It helps the American people and improves their lives, and it's popular, so it's got to go!)

I am surprised by the intensity of my hatred of republicans and their anti-American policies, which grows every day. Is there nothing we can do to stop these enemies of the state?

5. "Why are you taking your shoes off?"
It reminds of the old story about two hikers in the woods that came upon a grizzly bear. One of them starts taking off his shoes. "Why are you taking off your shoes? You still can't outrun the bear?"
The other hiker said, "I know. But I don't have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun you".

That is the Republican philosophy in a nutshell. They don't have to convince the Democrats they are telling the truth. They only have to convince their own supporters. And they have a very gullible bunch of followers.

8. G W Bush used "Mediscare" in 2000.
He was in a debate and after Gore predicted Republican shenanigans with Medicare and Social Security (remember Gore's lock box?), Bush said "he's running on Mediscare!" As for Ryan, he certainly is a liar. The GOP is the party of lies and they have chosen Ryan to be their standard-bearer, their liar-in-chief, their Imperial Wizard. The Democrats need to bring him down hard.

22. And that is why Dems need to stick RyanCare, RyanKill or VoucherCare to this plan...
...and make it STICK like glue.

I don't care which phrase but they need to pick one and hammer with it.

6. A "True Believer"...
He's another country club rushpublican whose "ideals" are a fantasy that's percolated within his elite world and that he and others of his ilk have no direct connection to. He's always had a government gig...and many of his cronies live off corporate welfare or are part of some right wing "think tank" that's yet another welfare program. He's never had to worry about where the next paycheck comes from or making that check last. He has a nice health insurance policy (and who knows what special perks for carrying their water) as well as many other perks that a person who isn't connected couldn't even dream of. He can live in a world of "randian" bullshit and theory as he'll never have to be directly affected by the consequences. If anything his career rises the more he serves those who fund his welfare...and thus that's all he sees and cares.

Yes this shitstain believes the bullshit he's spewing cause its his meal ticket. It's the old McLuan adage of "if you say a lie long enough, people will believe it" at work. Without his "plan" Ryan become a back-bencher. This is his 15 minutes...pull off the scam and he becomes a "player", mess it up and he's sent to the Agriculture committee. My hopes are the voters in his district send him to that private sector he so covets and he gets a first-hand experience with the real world as of January, 2013...

Ryan, like all ReTHUGS, believes that if you repeat a lie often enough people will buy it. That won't work with Medicare.

9. Unfortunately for Ryan.
.... his plan is simple enough for even not-too-bright people to understand. And the old "only for those under 55" fools nobody. They always play bait and switch, after a couple years it will be 60 and then everybody.

In a nutshell, his plan is "if you get really sick you will have to sell everything you own to get care, and if you do recover you can live in a cardboard box".

He IS a liar and by claiming that the only fix to Medicare is to hand it over to the vultures, all the while refusing to look at the revenue side of the equation, makes him a really low down scumbag of a liar at that.

11. "claiming that the only fix to Medicare is to hand it over to the vultures"
That is true.

Every solution by the Republicans assumes no revenue to pay for it. Therefore, it has to be destroyed. They have been permitted to promote that little fantasy for so long that it has now become their reality. But the truth is, if we want these programs that benefit the people, we have to pay for them. They do not pay for themselves.

27. Medicare coverage
is currently around $1200 a year. Ryan wants the elderly to pay $6000. That's a 500% increase. Most of us can do the rudimentary math to figure out Ryan is a shill for the insurance industry, and he's promoting fascism in a cheap disguise.
He does look like a funeral parlor doorman.
