How to help pets affected by Joplin tornado
Before I post links, I want to note that donating/caring about this cause doesn't mean that we aren't caring about the people. Its not mutually exclusive, and there isn't any need for controversy in this thread. I'm just pointing out another way to help. Pets might be the only family some of these victims have left.

The Joplin Humane Society is obviously overflowing. They've created an amazon registry for supplies here: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wedding/9NXFU5BUZCLK

If you would like to donate directly to the JHS, go here: http://joplinhumane.org/

And here is a group on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Animals-Lost-Found-from-the-Joplin-Mo-tornado/185768248141000

Its also storming in SW MO again :-(

2. I'm sure many people are donating to the Joplin red cross -
so this is for the pets. So sad the whole thing... we go through this sometimes with the hurricanes here in south Texas. Thanks for posting!

3. A kick and some animal/owner reunion stats:
from the FB page: "Joplin Humane Society Animal Adoption & Resource Center: Animals received since Monday: 528. Animals reunited with their owners: 120!"

4. I have that facebook link too.
They both go together, IMO.

Everyone and everything needs help down there. If someone can afford to help they should in whatever way they feel.

It's gloomy up here in W. Central MO. It rained earlier and tonight we have a chance of hail.

Its going to be miserable next week, they are talking temps in 90s.

6. KC hasn't left since it happened.
For a couple of days they had crews split between there and Sedalia, though of course it wasn't nearly as awful as Joplin. (Mostly trailers there but that tends to be the population that can least afford for something to happen!)

Anyway, it's supposed to be hot up here too next week. I'm not looking forward to it.
