One in Liberal Arts, one in applied science. She will go on to hopefully, a career in social work, which is her goal. She is a bona fide way Left Progressive, she KNOWS the Right is trying to destroy her future and her rights, and she will do everything in her power to make a difference in many many people's lives. She made us proud.

She done good.

business. No, she wants to do social work.

We're far from rich, closer to panic every week, but she has ALWAYS come first. And she wants to help. Wealth isn't part of her makeup. Food, comfortable jeans, decent shoes, a computer that works, and gas money, that's what she needs. I cannot remember her asking for anything other than the occasional PC or console game. She has also found the time to work, get her bartender's certification, and master the art of fighting off those who think she should be making babies and be decoration when socializing.

A purpose, something she has. I hope she succeeds and I hope she stays happy.

And she can kick my ass..........thanks LA Fitness......

10. You should be proud!
I work with a guy who is from India and is a Hindu (sp?). His daughter just graduated with a dual major as well...one in biological science and another in religious studies (mainly Islam). Now that blew my mind. She wants to be a doctor.

Anyway, congrats to you and yours!!!!

And gave her all the support she needed during a most critical time of her life. Good parenting is a skill.

I'm trying to think of a political figure who doesn't view education as the way out of our economic problems and I'm coming up empty.

39. Don't believe that an education doesn't pay: that's a myth!
There are always individual exceptions that make for good stories, but for decades and up to 2010, the more educated you are the more money and opportunity you'll have...and that's in addition to simply living a life rich with knowledge and experience that you gained in school. Even if you aren't earning the highest salary in the neighborhood, education is priceless. Congratulations to your kids!

41. Congratulations to your daughter.
Graduating college is quite an achievement. I have a good friend that's a social worker, and he would tell you it's a satisfying career.

Be proud of her, and don't let this current trend of nay saying a college degree get to you.
