Copycat threads.
For those that don't understand, a visit to The Lounge is in order. There, we will educate you as to why this phenomenon crops up, even in the Hallowed Halls of GD :hi:

Is that where the ruffians and street urchins drink their ale and play their dice games?

Or ice tea.

Beware of the wind outside, Houston will have to be called the Windy City.

17. I am watering around the house blocks.
We payed a lot of money to raise the house, foundations are going to be hit bad.

Just a little rain would help.

18. Would using a weeper hose help?
Then you can keep it soaking with the tap barely open. It'll keep it wet better than having to go around with a hose yourself, or so it seems to me :)

20. I've used that technique before, too.
It works great, also at keeping weeds down. And then you can till it all into the soil in the fall as more organic matter for the worms.

Something you have to neither mow nor water (much) :)

23. Been thinking about it.
Thanks for the website.

I want to make it more wildlife friendly.

I do have a lot of plants that the butterflies seem to like.

Native planting it the way to go.

I need to take a picture of what the birds or wind planted, sort of a sunflower type plant.

It is growing tall.

25. I will.
The seeds came from the railroad yard, now only concrete and townhouse grow.

Nice to have the plants growing, the plants are getting big.

The plants don't seem to need to be watered, they just grow.

26. When your soil is healthy,
plants often need less watering because the ground is able to both absorb more and hold it longer.

Those plants may also have a long taproot and have dipped into the water table, if it's still close to the surface...

27. The ground is sandy.
Some of the plants are almost 7 feet tall and still growing.

The bees and flying insects seem to like the plants.

The plants are yellow with a black center.

28. I see wild sunflowers or something like them
growing along the railroad tracks here, so they're probably the same plant. What we call "weeds" often have long taproots to bring moisture up to the surface as well as nutrients missing from the soil. They are actually indicators of what's missing in the soil, instead of simply "pests" to be eliminated :)

29. I like my weeds.
They are pretty and butterflies seem to like them.

The are hardy plants.

Yards in area have clay just underneath the top soil, the sand breaks it up.

Water does not stand in my yard, it soaks in.

At one time everyone would buy a truck load of sand and spread it around the yard for drainage.

Our yard is easy to dig in.

40. Is there a 'why' as to the copycat threads ..
besides them being funny? I see it and once in a while do it, but is there an origination 'incident' or something?

I think I remember where "I'm Series!!!" came from, and I know about being a 'moran,' and I know LOLcat-speak.... lets see what else is there...
