MoScum running TAPED anti-Medicare rant by Joe. Hmmm.
Edited on Tue May-24-11 07:31 AM by Atman
This is supposedly a live show. Most of it has been live, but they just finished one of those segments where the slip in a taped segment without telling the viewer they've switched to tape, except for the absence of the little "live" bug. Why? They HAD to have another five-minute anti-Medicare screed, as if Joe doesn't get to do this enough already? And had, in fact, he already done so this morning. Apparently it wasn't enough for Joe's corporate masters...gotta keep catapulting the propaganda! Can't let up for a moment!

2. I missed the rant the first time so I heard it on rerun. He wouldn't let Harold Ford, Jr. talk.
I guess that was his morning "performance."

Wow, that Medicare ad by the Dems really got everybody going today! It's kind of a brutal ad, esp. when grandma tries to grab the wheels of her wheelchair to stop Ryan's determined effort to toss her off the cliff...no wonder Joe is mad...

3. Joe equated Medicare with fat on a steak and ice cream
The greedy shithead really does hate seniors.

10. I used to tune in out of curiosity
I can't stomach it anymore, not even for Harold Ford Jr and the occasional democratic viewpoint. We NEED a liberal morning cable talk show! Maybe Current TV could step up and give us one?

A liberal girl can dream..... :)

16. Yep, he may be a blue dog
But he's better than the mess of republicans on that show. And I'm in Memphis, land of the republicans. I wish they had Steve Cohen on Morning Joe but I think that is rather doubtful.

5. They do that quite a bit in hour three.
I'm not sure if it's to give them a break or something but running the beginning of hour one again at hour three is fairly typical.

9. This wasn't "hour three."
I know exactly what you're talking about, but this wasn't it. In fact, generally in "hour three" they'll repeat the stories, but they'll repeat them live, essentially doing the bit all over again. It isn't actually that common for them to run entire bits on tape. And that's what this was, a bit. Joe's schtick. And GECOMCASTNBC or whomever the hell pulls his strings now, wanted make sure the message got replayed, because Joe was on a tear they couldn't resist repeating. Good television, good way to keep catapulting the message..."ELIMINATING MEDICARE IS THE ONLY WAY OUT THIS MESS!" It's a total lie, but it is a lie that is much better for their bottom line than saying we need to stop the warring (which GE profits from) and rein in insurance companies (GE is a huge insurance company) and allow the Bush revenue give-aways to expire (they're all rich as shit).

13. It will hurt his eventual return to politics.
Just like why he can't renounce the Ryan budget plan...it's instant death within the Republican party, of which he says he's a member when he's not claiming to be a Libertarian.

6. I think only the 6-8 portion is live - the remaining hour (8-9) is a repeat

11. Nope, hour three is live.
Willie and Mika might repeat their little crap-fests of "News You Can't Use," but they do it live. They don't usually re-run segments on tape unless they had a particularly poignant or newsworthy guest. Joe is neither newsworthy or poignant, and he's certainly no guest. Hell, if someone had baited him properly, I'm sure Joe could have re-ranted that entire bullshit live again.

15. "Does anybody know when Morning Joe started repeating the first hour of the show at the beginning"
"Does anybody know when Morning Joe started repeating the first hour of the show at the beginning of the third hour? I thought they were required to label it as previously recorded. The first time I saw it, I thought the conversation was eerily similar to what I had heard at the beginning of the show, before I realized it was a repeat. They don't respond to emails questioning this practice, so I'm not sure why they are doing it."

8. Scabwhoreoh makes me miss Imus. I think the ass Bernard
was responsible for a lot of the ugly stuff on Imus. It was a lot more entertaining that Joe's show. I usually don't watch it.
