Kansas Rep. Pete DeGraaf: Being impregnated during a rape is just like getting a flat tire
By Peter Rugg, Mon., May 23 2011 at 7:21 AM Comments (187)

Rape is often called the ultimate violation of self. A crime of absolute contempt for personal integrity, leaving the women caught in its wreckage to labor under the trauma for years. What reprehensible event could possibly have the same consequences as the spiritual dead zone rape victims are left in?

Well, getting a flat tire, according to Kansas state Rep. Pete DeGraaf.

.................

DeGraaf drew groans of protest from some House members when he responded, "I have a spare tire on my car."

"I also have life insurance," he added. "I have a lot of things that I plan ahead for."

4. What he's saying...
What he's saying is that women have to exercise their second amendment rights, and be willing to shoot first and ask questions later.

It's called planning ahead.

Then at least the right spare tire will have a hole in it.

8. He's actually against abortion in all circumstances, of course.
He's lying when he says he thinks women should "plan ahead" for a pregnancy caused by a rape. His goal is to prevent all abortions. He does not believe there should be exceptions for rape or incest, and he does not believe that danger the the life of the woman is a valid reason for an abortion. His website states: "Far too many babies have been killed on the pretense that the mother’s life is at risk." Oh, and God prepared him for his position as state legislator. What a guy.

12. Of course there are options for women to 'plan ahead' but the right-wing nut
want to take those options away from us too. This includes affordable birth control including the pill and making Plan B easily available. All hospitals should make Plan B (emergency contraception) available for women who are raped and go to the emergency room. When Plan B is taken within 48 hours of unprotected sex it is highly effective in preventing pregnancy. But instead the right-wing want to take that option away from us too.

15. so, are women supposed to PLAN TO BE RAPED because men plan to rape???
is he really saying that men are just reprehensible hormonal slaves who can't control their penises and women are just consigned to be unwilling victims????? THAT is the PLAN?!?!?! I mean what the hell does this have to do with ANYTHING???

If that is his idea of a plan, I've got a new plan: All women start carrying straight razors so that when a 'man's plan' gets too close to a 'woman's plan'.....the woman can use this 'new plan' to 'change' the 'man's plan' and gender.

......it's as good a 'plan' as DeGraaf has.
